We are proud to announce that Brittany Allen, Kindergarten Teacher, has been named our Teacher of the Year. In kindergarten, the foundation for a child’s entire school experience is built, and Mrs. Allen approaches that responsibility with intention, patience, and heart.

She creates a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Through strong relationships, high expectations, and consistent routines, she helps her students grow not only academically but socially and emotionally. Her ability to balance structure with warmth sets the tone for success from day one.

Mrs. Allen is a leader among her peers, a steady presence for her students, and a true asset to our school community.

Horatio Elementary Recognized for Outstanding Math Growth 

Horatio Elementary has been honored with a 2025 High Math Growth Award from the University of Arkansas Office for Education Policy (OEP).

Each year, the OEP recognizes schools across Arkansas that demonstrate exceptional student growth on state assessments. Unlike awards based on overall test scores, growth awards highlight how much progress students make from one year to the next—a true reflection of effective teaching and student learning.

At Horatio Elementary, 84.88% of our students showed growth in Math during the 2024–2025 school year. This means our students are learning and improving at a rate well above expectations.

This recognition celebrates the daily dedication of our teachers, the hard work of our students, and the support of our families. Together, we’re building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
